Cover Me: Don't look back, you can never look back...

I am not a winter person at all. I spend most of winter huddled up on my couch, with the heater on and blankets and the remote control, holding my breath until summer arrives. And I don't mean the fake summer that we get in September, because that only lasts two weeks and only fools take it seriously. Fools I tell you!  It's a complete tease, and you always have to put your doona back on the bed until at least November. Don't even think about packing that electric blanket away.

So, given that we are in the depths of winter right now and I am in full hibernation mode (which involves refusing to wear anything that isn't stretchy, to facilitate maximum couch comfort) I decided to go with something summery. As inspiration. As a little something to get us through. And because it's an awesome cover, of an awesome song.

Don't tell Don Henley, but I like this better than the original. Actually do tell him. I'm fairly sure he won't mind. And there have been worse covers - DJ Sammy, I'm looking at you.

I miss The Ataris. I saw Kris Roe do a gig with Mike Herrera from MxPx at The Annandale last year which was completely awesome, but it would be nice to see the full band back in action and on tour. I'll stand up the back, where it's a bit quieter, and probably just have a coke. Or maybe a lemon, lime & bitters.
